The £432 we realise we will never see again and the SO CALLED UPGRADE gave us 2 x SINGLE BEDS! It was only confirmed that we were having a twin room when I contacted them to say I was filing a complaint under SECTION 75 of BARCLAYCARD for the entire cost of the holiday, I then received confirmation of twin beds within about 40 minutes. This was the start of WEEKS AND WEEKS of stress, unreturned and much promised phone calls, complaints through the official channel, live chat and more. We would not have accepted this as all rooms have a balcony and sea view anyway. We were shocked to see we had been charged £163 extra PER PERSON and when queried we were told that it was for an upgrade to a twin room with balcony and sea view.

Great that I’ve got it sorted out, but the fact it’s taken me so long to get it sorted plus it’s something which should never have happened in the first place still grinds me and I won’t ever use them again.Īs friends we specifically requested a twin room and were booked into a double, the money was taken from my account before I received the confirmation email giving permission and I have the proof of that in the clock times shown on the emails. After a couple of minutes on hold they came back to me and agreed so they put me in the hotel I should’ve been in the first place. When I explained that I had a screenshot of the hotel with all the details on, and that the reference number didn’t relate to the hotel I was booked into, I said that as it was their mess up, it should be down to them to fix it. They could put me into the hotel I wanted at a cost of £200 more, and that they would cover £120 of that. I was contacted by teletext customer service team - who have a much more literate group of staff than their booking team - and the guy said that he could understand my frustration, he’d listened to the recording of the call and admitted that the assistant needs retraining and will be dealt with (maybe he will, maybe he won’t) and that the booking itself was handled in a bad way.

Thanking you in advance.Ok, so here’s the update and apologies for the delay. Please can you help us or just give us some advice. We have been checking the reviews for Teletext Holidays on Trustpilot and we are not the only people who are experiencing the same problem!!! What on earth can we do now? Where do we go from here? We can't afford to throw money down the drain, but this is what its like!!! Our hard earned money we have paid out & we've received nothing apart from sleepless nights and countless waisted hours on the phone. We also paid for Travel Insurance through before the pandemic hit but apparently this isn't any help either because we are expected to claim our money back through Teletext!!! The only advice they could give us was to seek legal advice!!! (more money)!!! (Insurance isn't worth paying out for).

We have also been in touch with our Bank for a chargeback but we paid in full at the time on our debit card and apparently because Teletext have made us a part payment there is nothing they can do, they are going to look into it but have advised us that they can't promise that this will help. Since then we have been ringing weekly and holding on for nearly an hour or so only to have the phone then hung up!!! to find out where the rest of our refund is? We sent our email and was then told to expect our refund in 30 days, this did not happen and after many long hours and many days on the phone and many promises later by Teletext we eventually received a part refund!!!, we received this on 20th August 2020. We contacted Teletext Holidays for a refund only to be told that we would have to email on the 31st of July and request a refund. Our holiday obviously was cancelled due to Coronavirus. Please can you help us, we don't know where to go next or what to do!!! We booked a holiday back in February 2020, our holiday was for March 2020, on the day of booking we paid in full.
